"100"

Actually, there are 110 words, due to groups of words that sound the same as others – such as, "colonel" and "kernel", and "weather", "wether" and "whether" – which are listed individually.

The original list of "The 100 Most Frequently Misspelled Words" found online, treated such homonyms as one word, and explained their differences in one paragraph. For technical reasons these words must be treated individually in this project.

The following is for the perfectionist and the nerd.
I do not wish to make this more complicated, but there are actually only 109 entries (yet 110 words). The words "its" and "it's" are listed under one entry – "its".

The reason for this is because the 'Evaluator' employs javascript, and an apostrophe has a meaning in javascript – it closes a tag (command). Therefore, to include the word "it's" in the script would confuse and render the script impotent. Neither can an apostrophe be used in a URL (web address), such as the audio file that accompanies each word in these modules.

All of this does not mean that an apostrophe can never be used on a web page. It is written with the script ’. Since I see no reason to teach people to spell "it's" as it’s the simplest solution is to put "its" and "it's" in one entry.
