| Rent | Currently we are living on the 4th floor of an apartment building. Our contract is up August 31, 2009. The landlord has not raised the rent in three years. We can only pray and hold our breath that she will not. We expect that she will. Similar housing is quite a bit more expensive than we are currently paying. |
| Gas, Electricity, Trash | Costs have been jumping up at ___% this past year, so this is the figure we used to calculate for the next year. |
| Computing & Video | Lidia is in need of a computer for her ministry. There are also webhosting and email expenses which are necessary for her work. |
| Vacation | Periodically, we need a break in order to function at our optimum. Steve has family in Munich and we have other freinds around Europe. |
| Retirement / Savings | We cannot afford to not invest in our future. |
| Continuing Education | In today's job market, one must continually grow. In Steve's case, this is a Masters of Education degree with teaching certificate, which will open up many options for the future, either here in Budapest or back in USA. (We don't know which.) |
| Working Fund: Steve | Teaching art requires experimenting with new media and materials, knowing what is available here in Budapest and shipping in what does not. |
| Working Fund: Lidia | Közbenjáró Édesanyák (Moms-In-Touch, Hungary) is new to Hungary, so much material must be translated, and printing. There is also travel expenses to visit group leaders outside the capital city as well as to conferences to promote the ministry. |
| Automobile | Depending on what happens after Steve gets his MEd, we might need an automobile here. Figuring a $4,200. automobile to purchase at the end of the summer in 2008, we figured $350 per the 12 month preceeding purchase. Currently we live in a central location in the city. Even so, there is considerable stress on our young children as we move about. Moving out of town will compound this effect. Services and stores will not be as conventiently located in the village as in the city. |
